## Try using ''PUTTY'' to ssh to the dreamplug.&lt;br /&gt;
## First, disconnect the port 1 ethernet cable, which connects to the webcam&lt;br /&gt;
## connect another ethernet cable between port 1 on the dreamplug and the laptop&lt;br /&gt;
## when you connect your laptop to the dreamplug if it is working fine it should dynamically supply an IP address using DHCP&lt;br /&gt;
## IP address for the server will be '''192.168.1.1'''; port initially is '''22''' ''(if we use the replacement dreamplug the port will be '''20593''')''; user will be ''bob''&lt;br /&gt;
## If you're able to log in... awesome!&lt;br /&gt;

#### &amp;lt;CONTROL&amp;gt;&amp;lt;O&amp;gt; = save&lt;br /&gt;
#### &amp;lt;ESCAPE&amp;gt;&amp;lt;\&amp;gt; = fast forward to the last line of the program&lt;br /&gt;
### cat $filename = output to the terminal screen the contents of a file (like a text file)&lt;br /&gt;
### tail $filename = output to the terminal screen the last 10 lines of a text file&lt;br /&gt;
### cd = change directory.  so, like cd .. or cd /etc/ or cd /home/bob/bin. invoking that command will take you different places.  Also, to denote directories in linux you'll use the forward slash as shown there so /home/bob/bin is three directories in from the ''root'' directory.&lt;br /&gt;
### exit --&amp;gt; this is how you log out&lt;br /&gt;
### shutdown now -r --&amp;gt; slightly more complex, typing this will restart the dreamplug.&lt;br /&gt;

 Put MD485 in transparent mode and connect RS485 port to either the CSIO or the RS232.  CSIO is good because then the unit is powered, which simplifies the wiring a bit.&lt;br /&gt;

 4800 baud&lt;br /&gt;
 even parity&lt;br /&gt;
 7 data bits&lt;br /&gt;
 1 stop bit&lt;br /&gt;
 no flow control&lt;br /&gt;
MD485s can't support this so you'll need to use the Vaisala USB interface to first communicate with the HMP155 to change the settings like this:&lt;br /&gt;
