We have two air cable bluetooth radios that I have been using for the Rio Grande ADCP setup. I also have two external 8.5 dbi omni-directional antennaes to go with them. I have been using them on the kayak to send back GPS and ADCP data to a laptop w/ bluetooth on shore.

		+	1. Set up base station on a tripod. Plug in Base GPS to cable. Plug in power to GPS. Plug “Base Radio J3 115K’ w/ null modem into J3 cable and turn on Bluetooth radio “on” switch. Remember to turn off Bluetooth radio and unplug GPS when finished w/ the measurement.

		+	2. Set up Boat. This will have 2 radios, one to receive corrections from the base and one to send the GPS data back to the laptop on shore. Open orange box and connect the “Boat Radio J2 38.4K” w/ null modem into the J2 cable and connect an antennae. Plug “Base Radio J3 115K’ w/ null modem into J3 cable, connect the antennae, and turn on both Bluetooth radio “on” switch. Plug in the power on the GPS cable. Note the antennae cable and two antennaes will have to fit through the hole. Fill the hole (and any other holes) with putty to waterproof it. Attach the GPS to the aluminum plate and attach the plate to the Streampro blue comm/power box). Plug in the GPS to the cable.

		+	1. Turn on the Streampro. Turn off the wireless switch on the Toughbook. Plug in the Sena UD100 w/ a 9dbi patch antennae for 1km communications to the boat. Open the software (Blue Soleil or Toshiba Stack) and turn on the Bluetooth. Note that on the task bar, the red/blu icon is for Toshiba and the blu/white icon is for Bluesoleil. The Bluetooth will search for any Bluetooth devices. You will want to connect only to the boat GPS Parani SD1000 and the RDI SPRro S/N. Note, you may have to test this (by turning some off) to find out which Parani SD1000 you are communicating with because there are 3. Once connected, note the COM port that the Toughbook assigned to each device. Then hook up to hyperterminal (with the appropriate com port as assigned by the laptop) to test the connection with the boat GPS radio and the laptop and make sure you either get WAAS (9) or RTK (5). You may want to keep the Toshiba or BlueSoleil open to check every so often that you still have comms w/ the parani SD1000 GPS radio and the streampro.

Test Port in winriver to ensure it is working and you have RTK or WAAS.
