site logs

03 Sept 2007, Ken I.

Transcribed by EKY

  • Did some rewiring, the blue wire to SE1 was missing so it was replaced
  • Left a new logger (DFM5) in place, same name DBM2 pakbus 202.

13 July 2007, Ken I.

  • wx dry, about 60F, wind 10-15 knots from south
  • Site is in good shape; electric fence working.
  • swapped solar panel leads at charge controller; showing charge,

but solar panel shows 19V vs battery at 12.49V, so charge controller is not working

  • old charge controller: SS-10-12V, S/N 06014116 <-- BAD
  • replaced charge controller: SS-10-12V, S/N 07160062
  • no logbook at site
  • taped yellow "flags" on electric fence to keep from blowing over to posts
  • after change, solar panel shows 12.4V, battery 12.55V
  • shaded solar panel, observed drop in both voltages

10 June 2007, Ken I., Dan R.

  • installed HMP45C-L45', s/n Z4750068
    • (could be replaced with sensor with 5-foot cable...)
  • installed GW-YSI 3-AT sensor, tag# ATB5_DAR2
  • installed flex conduit on all wires
  • bridged solar shields (2) w/ copper rod (available mat'ls :) to try to strengthen setup. Both had been bent down & back before we got to site.
  • installed electric fence
  • found wire on back of solar panel pulled off (probably by bear)
    • wire & solder pad on panel still intact, probably repairable (solder)
    • removed solar panel from site
  • installed 50W solar panel (formerly at old White Hills repeater)
