Just a skeleton of a beginning but wanted a place to collect scraps of ideas etc.

To Do Yet

  • Helicopter Safety Plan
  • Renew Tracker plans for field season
  • Make sure GPS systems are compatible between groups
  • PR for & Ship stuff (to Nome Gnome?)

Snow Survey Gear

  • 2x Thermal Conductivity Probes
    • have one long sensor that still needs to be found.
  • 3x Snow density tube
  • 1x magnaprobe
  • Lots of ziplocs
  • snow scale
  • short power point on snow survey techniques
  • one pager for fieldbooks on what to do
  • I think UAF will bring out 4 or 5 pairs of snow shoes plus one pair of skis

  • Bob Busey (Noon) & LANL Crew (Evening) arrive in Nome
  • Hotel opens @ 3pm
  • pick up stuff from cargo

    • safety equipment
  • groceries

3/21

  • Lily Cohen & Bob Bolton arrive in Nome
  • Hotel opens @ 3pm
    • get settled.
    • get groceries

Survey marker trip day:

  • 8am start
  • 10am arrive on-site and set up survey gps system
  • 10:45 snowmachine to the top of the drainage. Work down the hill deploying mark
  • ~7 hrs to deploy markers for UAV/helo
    • Stop sign
    • rebar protection
    • rebar
  • evening: return to Nome.
