Sensor Photo procedure

For recalibration swaps.

  • Picture 1 = The new sensor being deployed
  • Picture 2 = The old sensor being removed to send away for recalibration.

Partial Task List

  • Ground anchor strengthening
  • finish tracking power
  • XX Snow Transducer Swap
  • XX Replace CNR4s
  • XX replace the anemometers starting from top
  • XX pull out the eddy covariance units for recalibration
  • XX replace geonor antifreeze
    • I have written on the a bucket the ratio. Also need to dilute the mix so I can drop at dump.
  • Hang the SWE sensor
  • Add the NL100 to the network
  • update the software
  • 12V battery backups
  • replace UPS batteries?
  • Check output current of the two solar panels out there
  • change Tower IP address in scripted utilities.

Activities

  • 2021-10-06 12:00 AK DT -- changed liquids in the geonor. 8 liters 60/40 mix & 1 bottle baby oil
    • Removed like 5.3 gallons
      • (Which means that last year's mix amount for antifreeze was more than necessary). 5.3 gallons removed = Freezing point of bucket around -25C
    • 8 liters mix = 72.7 cm liquid with freezing point @ -40
      • Realistically we only need the 60/40 mix to go to -40 by around April 1 so 72.7cm is extreme overkill and maybe I'll reduce the volumes down the road.
    • Re leveled stand, too.
  • Plugged in tipping bucket heater
  • Remove Forest Floor LI7200
  • Swap Tower LI7200 (But need to update the calibration info still)
  • Add an HDMI switch for monitor.
  • Swap out top 3 anemometers & geonor
  • Swap out net radiometers
  • update SS Met program for new radiometers
  • change snow transducers
  • 2x Solar panels: 320 W / 33V / 9.61 A
