site TODO list

  • record as-built wiring of soil sensors
  • Flex conduit as needed

site logs

Sept 8, 2008, 4:24pm ADT Emily and KEn

  • Measured SR50 distance, highly irregular, 129 cm, 128 cm, 141 cm, 127 cm, 145 cm. Program reads 116 cm and datalogger records 17 cm of snow
  • Added barkchips, trimmed vegetation and moved sensor 1 foot toward north where it is more level ground.
  • Measured new distance to ground and it is about 129 cm, much more level. Changed program from 116 cm to 129 cm.
  • Installed an electric fence, needs 1-2 more posts
  • loaded new datalogger program

13 Jun 2008, 1:37pm ADT Emily & KEn

  • Measured SR50 distance, avg is 133 cm
  • Wiring is bad for one of the YSIx3 sensor, it is just the wrong wire color combination in the new sensors
  • we checked the soil temperature profile, which seems messed up (see Ken's book)
  • Added conduit

  • Installed 50 W solar Panel
  • YSIx3 AT sensors all bad, replaced with GWS YSIx1 Therm YSI1 - 07116

28 Aug 2007, Ken I., Rob G.

Visited site after it had been AWOL from the radio network. Found bear damage to external wires/cables and solar panel. Repairs needed for:

  • RM Young cable
  • radio antenna cable
  • HMP45C sensor and cable
  • YSIx3 -- may be ok?
  • soil sensors: all wires pulled from logger
  • solar panel needs replaced
  • SR50 wire pulled from logger
  • net radiometer wire pulled from logger

No detailed notes on work accomplished, but most of the above was done.

29 Aug 2007, Ken I.

Installed 50W solar panel.

YSIx3 AT sensor all bad; replaced with GWS-YSIx1, Therm-YSI1-07116
