  • Samples should be taken at: 3 pm, 9 pm, 3 am, 9 am.
  • At least every 4 days the bottles in the sampler will need to be emptied into plastic bottles (in action packers at each site).
  • These bottles need to be labeled with: River Name & Time of Sample.
  • Take pictures and make detailed notes of the location of the end of the suction line (i.e. where the sample is being drawn from).

TO ENTER A PROGRAM:

  • (1) Enter Program Button
  • (2) Program Enter
  • (3) Time Enter
  • (4) Time: 6 hrs 0 min
  • (5) Multiplex Samples: No Enter
  • (6) Sample Volume: 1000 mL
  • (7) Suction Head: measured from level of liquid source to the pump (cannot exceed 26 feet)
  • (8) Start Sampling

One sample should be taken at peak flow; can enter a start time for the program to begin so that it starts at peak flow, or a 6-hour interval from peak flow.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED

  • (1) Isco Sampler
  • (2) suction line
  • (3) power source (car battery & alligator clips or ni-cad batteries & wall charger)
  • (4) 1L sampling bottles
