12 Jun 2008, Emily and Ken
- Site had bear damage. Solar panel was broken, we replaced panel
- Soil temperature sensors ripped out of box
- Measured SR50 distance to ground, avg 116 cm
- E-fence not working, rewired e-fence and is now working
- added conduit (no shielding though)
17 May 2008, Bob and Jeff
Note by EKY, Bob and Jeff visited this site and found extensive bear damage. Data from 4/29 through 5/17 is bad. They were able to hook up the anemometer but we need a new cable. Soil sensors have been ripped out of ground.
28 August 2007 11:30a, Rob Gieck.
(entered by E. Youcha from Rob's field book)
- looks like they took off the SR50 with SN C4801 and put on SR50 with SN 4802
- took distance measurements with circle (cone) method, 2 ft out from sensor: N=117.7 cm, E=119, W=115, S=119.4
- I think the HMP45C was replaced (old SN B0110036 - new SN C11430045)
- fence looked in place
13 July 2007, Ken I.
- electric fence working; taped yellow tags near posts
- fence could use two more posts in middle of long runs
- tightened both wires on NE fence run
- rain gauge funnel not secured
- tripod looks good; guys are a little slack
- site could use flex conduit on tripod wires
- radiation pole is plumb; cables a bit slack
- need turnbuckle on N guy (now secured with nylon cord)
- snow depth sensor off plumb; fitting looks bent; straightened/bent it back, but not quite vertical
9 June 2007, Ken I., Dan R.
- old site dismantled for later removal:
- battery box: about 220 pounds, including 3 batteries
- tower/stand: about 100 pounds
- solar panel REMOVED
- electric fence put up using 4 posts
