Post Trip Notes and such
- could bring ubolts up to teller top to better level the precip bucket / hose clamps
- swapped out desiccant at teller bottom net radiometer and also teller sw
- made a discharge measurement, 2x at the sw site.
- leveled all radiometers
- at ngee-koug site need to check compass direction every trip.
- ngee-koug precip wasn't quite level after another musk ox hit.
- bring up tools and rethink again for march trip.
- teller cas site
- need guy wires for geonor and solar panel
- think about getting panel higher and or
- need proper ring terminals for the battery(s)
- need to think about rewiring at/rh sensor to turn on/off rather than be on all the time(but need to review the program to confirm)
- Still need to fix helicopter headsets
- Need guy wires for the geonor gages
- and anchors
Surveying NGEE-Koug
- Bumper to Control: 42"
NGEE Koug Notes
- Wind Sensors east/west @ 58° magnetic
- 2022 Update: Declination 9.88° E changing by -0.39° W per year in 2018
- True Direction = Magnetic Direction + Declination (East = positive)
- True Direction E-W = 68° (Correct to 90)
- In conclusion: E-W alignment should have been at 90° but was at 68°. Add 22° to data logger reading
- I'm not positive but I don't think we moved it. consulted phone notes & fieldbook.
K2 Met Notes
- Required Tools:
- Phillips CSI for snow depth
- Torpedo Level & 5/16" nut driver for precip
- There is extra wire rope for net radiation stand but need more thimbles
- thimble size requires 7/16" wrench.
- Bring desiccant for radiometers next visit
K3 Mauze Notes
- Able to connect to radio but unable to wake logger
- replace CSIO/RS232 box?
K1 Burn Notes
- able to download data by radio and data looks great
Kigluaiks Notes
- Able to connect to radio but unable to wake logger
Surveying at Teller
- 30.25" above CP02 rebar to bumper
Teller Stage
- 2018-09-24 18:50 AKDT
- 3cm above rebar 1
- 13cm in front of rebar 1
- 2018-09-26 10:48 AKDT
- 5cm above rebar 1
- 14.5 cm in front of rebar 1
- Salt in Solution Dilution #1 == 50.21g / LANL Bag #19
- Salt in Solution Dilution #2 == 50.12g / LANL Bag #15
Teller Bottom Notes
- VATP at bottom no frost jacking
- swapped out VATP snow sensor
- still need to tap & die a new hole for the last screw.
Council
- Need to replace antenna coax at council grid and move antenna (animal nips).... might also take opportunity to move radio to other box and pull the army box?
- ... this would require bringing out a spare of the waterproof radio cables with db9 on the end.
- I think antenna move could be flip snow arm and use old sr50 stub for the vertical deal. Also might just change our antenna...
- Unable to download data but moved antenna and also turned radio on.... this got the site back on the radio network...
Council Surveying
- GPS at cp01, 49.875" (7/8") bumper to rebar
To Ship
- bring out non spillable paperwork too for return.
To Take Bolton
- Trimble Pelican case (no lithium batteries are in the case)
- nrs straps
- soil sample volume
- sat phone
- tracker
- lg actionpacker filled with these items (not yet designated)
- conductivity meter for discharge measurement
- sample bottle for discharge measurement
- 100g salt ziplocs
- SC32B f
- volt meter
- Tap & Die
- desiccant for teller bottom
- SR50A transducers once they arrive
- a ziploc labeled Nome
To Take Busey
- All necessary lithium batteries
- toughbook
- snacks
- new fieldbook
To Do Yet
- GeoPDFs with new points
- Load XML into trimble software and copy over to handheld controller
- step stool for teller bottom
- short as possible 4/40 screw
- Safety Document
- pick up toughbook charger on way south
- take desiccant out of crockpot and pack for trip
Bob Busey
Favors
- Ask Stan to borrow a drill again

Teller
- Check the next visit page (I'll copy/paste at some point)
- If time allows, Amy Breen has some surveying to be done. And, if we're able to survey then they'd also like thaw depths at their plots.
Teller Bottom
- change transducers for snow depth sensors
- download data
- measure VATP thermistors
- relevel radiometer
- bring out one step stool to level teller bottom radiometer. / another tall person.
- tap new hole in CNR4 & replace desiccant
- bring desiccant for box
Teller Surface Water
- download data
- replace desiccant
- discharge measurement with salt slug
- Need to secure solar panel before winter with nails
- YSI conductivity meter
Teller Top
- download data
- change transducers for snow depth sensors
- relevel radiometer
Council
- If time allows Amy Breen has some plots that need surveying and thaw depths
Council C1 Grid
- Would be great to visit C1 site and download data
- Redrill hole for C1 Grid temperature probe
- sr50a swap out?
- relevel precip bucket
Skookum Pass
- swap out data logger
- change program to add radio on/off
- current site photo
C2 Blueberry
- Download Data
Kougarok
Kougarok Mile 64
- Download Data
- don't really need snow depth here it would seem but just double check all measurements and relevel radiometer / precip
- Amy Breen has a number of points to be surveyed here. She'd like thaw depths for all we're able to visit.
Kougarok 10m tower
- A station visit to would be awesome even for just 2 hours to double-check site in anticipation of it being used for the disturbance study.
- Mandatory download data though even if by radio
- If we visit I'll put a storage module back at the site so it's less pressing.
- level precip bucket
- level radiometers
- replace radiometer desiccant
Kougarok Mauze gulch
- Minimum would be download data by radio
Kougarok Burn Site
- Download data by radio
