  • we will fly in on the evening of the 11th

Rough Schdeule:

  • fly up the 11th, arrive in the evening
  • morning of the 12th, one person puts the base together at NARL
  • in barrow grab a piece of trail mat to put under the tower
  • two people head out to BEO to site tower, identify tower location (using gps setup / tablet & power cable) and shovel snow
  • use gps to site tower and guy points (so as to miss frozen LCP etc)
  • third person brings tower and anchor to cake eater pull off
  • afternoon of the 12th: tower is raised
  • once we see how easy it is to lift we'll know how many people it takes to lift and drop
  • change out a couple of snow sensors
  • desiccant change out for radiometers
  • re-level radiometers
  • check level of precip buckets

To Do Yet:

  • load high res imagery onto GPS so we can hit our points in the field
  • configure radio
  • change logger ID to ___
  • drill enclosure for liquid-tite & (1/2" flex?)
  • track down fish tape
  • think about getter securing the camera (like straps?
  • grab washers for camera mount
  • cut guy wires
  • pack personal gear
  • packet of spare nuts & washers

=To Bring on plane:

Definition:

  • Base pieces connect directly to tower
  • Hinge Base pieces are part of the Hing assembly
  • EMT is a type of electrical conduit that is thinner walled & not threaded (lack of threads & metal typically suggests EMT). It is sized on a tubing system.
  • Electrical Conduit = typical english unit dimensions, (schedule 40 refers to wall thickness).
  • 1/2 depth slotted Unistrut -- channel dimensions are about 1-5/8" x 3/4"
  • full depth slotted Unistrut -- channel dimensions are about 1-5/8" x 1-5/8"

Loose Ends:

  • Cut Guy wires (3/16")... 6 pcs x 40 ft
  • something to keep the unistrut from popping off the screed stakes?
  • need like a junction box to go between strobe and the electrical conduit w/ 3/4" on either end.
  • couple caribiners for gin pole setup
