CNR4

  • Check out the status of the heater wiring for CNR4
    • is it even wired? to which ports?
    • change the program notes if wired
    • change program controls for heater
    • bring up couple SW12V
  • change desiccant in CNR4

bf5 sunshine sensor

  • install BF5 sensor
    • tripod is 9ft7in from tower. cable is 5m. so this should work out
    • bring some spare AC power line, inverters and plugs to set up power for heater.

organize the enclosure

    • zip ties of many colors and sizes
    • wires of many colors (mostly red and black)
    • white wire connector things

evap pan

  • float should hang from the right side of the sprocket wheel with the counter-weight to the left side of the wheel. A white line is painted on the front of the sprocket, When viewed from the front side, the line should be at the 11 o’clock or 30° when the float is resting on the bottom of the

gauge.

  • field calibrate
Fill pan partway with water, measure height with ruler in mm
Measure voltage by reading the EvapLevelTemp variable on the program
Add more water, measure water depth in pan
   Measure voltage
Calculate multiplier and offset using y = mx+b
       m(multiplier) = (height1-height2)/(voltage2-voltage1)
       b(offset) = height1-(m*voltage1)

little activities

  • add terrestrial quantum to sensor wiring notes at top of program
  • check what the calconnector looks like for lake PAR.
    • maybe need to buy a second one so can coordinate with calibration swaps
    • its reading negative because the sensor head was swapped wrong, but this isn't an issue.
  • change notes in program where measure pressure to change CS100 to CS106
    • remove sea level offset
  • get serial number for radios
  • get height of terrestrial PAR
  • check if pluvio is pointing north
  • think about soil temps- at least find them
  • clean all rad sensor domes with cloth
  • level all rad sensors
  • Garden cam??
  • fix some of torn blue mesh panels on Wyoming shield

Lake things

  • probs can't do this trip
  • stabilize underwater par sensor with second string for cleaning

at toolik

  • go through all metadata - remember the comments column
  • think about PAR sensors
  • upgrade loggernet
  • snow depth data
  • go through enclosure in Brie's office
  • figure out how to VPN into lognet

to bring

  • tools http://ngeedata.iarc.uaf.edu/wiki/Tool_list
  • computer + charger
  • field laptop + charger
  • fish tape
  • BF5 sensor + mount+ cable +cable conduit+ electrical accessories
  • CNR4 heater+ cable
    • 2 x SW12V BORROWED FROM NGEE, MUST REPLACE IF I USE IT
  • field book
  • copy of wiki

Clothes

  • raincoat
  • rain pants
  • sourdough jacket
  • warm hats
  • gloves and mittens
  • blue muck boots
  • winter hiking boots
  • fleece pants
  • leggings
  • orange fleece
  • wool long sleeve
  • socks, undies
  • work pants

Other Gear

  • -10 sleeping bag and stuff sack
  • sleeping pad
  • beverages
  • earplugs

SHOULD HAVE HAD

  • bug shirt
  • teflon tape, super large crescent wrench for the Evap pan. BUT toolik does have these things
