PreTrip To Do

To grab from storage

  • Pepper Spray
  • hand maul for tower??
  • pipe the right size is in there for the cross arm @ K3
    • use the one from C3 plus a bit of unistrut (seen in pictures)
  • check for how many radiometer cases there are in the Nome Storage... I think the Kougarok ones remain in the Kougarok conex (pictures are indeterminant).


Anvil Mountain

  • Add 107 Temperature for air temperature
  • Look at WS again
    • bring out a diode.
  • remove HMP45C
    • bring out a bit more duct seal

Monday 7/27:

  • Fly to Nome
  • pick up vehicle
  • visit storage
    • pick up water jugs
    • cooler
    • pepper spray
    • Pipe for k3
    • unistrut for k3
    • radiometer carryying cases if they are here
      • get water @ hotel
    • get pepper spray (from store or storage depending)
  • get a cross arm & extra rod / pipe from nome storage for shrub site radiation
  • grocery store
    • yogurt & garbage snacks
    • coke etc
    • ice for cooler
  • get set up in Kougarok & download data from the sites over radio network.

Tuesday 7/28:

  • if there is time in the morning, run over to K2 Met and do required things there.
  • Take crew from Nome to K3 Mauze
  • Add a CR1000 and radiation sensors
  • bring cable protection
  • and PEP radiometers to site. (brown tape calibration information)

Wednesday 7/29:

  • If K2 is done then try to visit the Kigluaiks Site
  • If Kig site is inaccessible then visit Council: C1, Kenji's site, Skookum
  • Or, chill with rest of NGEE team
  • Return to Nome

Thursday 7/30:

  • Chill with rest of NGEE team
  • Spend night in Nome

Friday 7/31:

  • Return to Fairbanks


Potential Stuff to do:

K1 Burn

  • Download data over radio network

K2 Met: No Fire Danger

  • Download data over radio network
  • bring out supplies to firm up guy wire anchors for tower and radiation tower
  • examine tower to see if it is safe for climbing
  • download data
  • replace desiccant in radiometers
  • remove CR800

=K2 Met: Fire Risk but safe for travel

  • Download data over radio network
  • Look in Nome Storage for Eppley Radiometer Cases
    • I think they are actually in the Kougarok conex.
  • Remove all hardware it is possible to remove.


K3 Mauze Gulch: No Fire Danger

  • Download data over radio network
  • bring out cross arm and additional support for CNR4
  • Try to re-use Q7 Rebs Net Radiometer Bracket with cross Arm
  • SI-111 bracket for cross arm
  • bring out CR1000 for radiation
  • wire to power CR1000 from existing CR10X

K3 Mauze Gulch: Fire Risk but safe for travel

  • Download data over radio network
  • pull CR10X & anemometer and other easy to remove items.

C1 Grid

  • Re-level precip bucket

Kenji Bear Creek:

  • replace hobo and soil surface / well temperature sensors

Skookum Pass

  • Replace CR10X w/ pakbus CR10X
    • program and update firmware in Fairbanks first... test...
  • add radiation shield for air temperature sensor

Anvil City

  • look in box to see what Chas left.
    • download program to make sure we have latest
    • change OS to pakbus & resend program
  • Visit Kenji's two hobos.
    • download data & change batteries

Kigulaiks

  • Replace CR10X w/ pakbus CR10X
    • bring out hose clamps & tape to secure new AT inside radiation shield
    • maybe use project wire if there is any in storage?

Anvil Mountain

  • Replace CR10X w/ pakbus CR10X
  • Bring out diode for wind speed sensor


To Do in Fairbanks:

  • grab another anchor or two for radiation stand
