site logs

3 Sept 2007, Ken I.

  • SR50 connector not tight, tightened
  • Distance 200 cm to ground from SR50 grid 1' diam circle, 200, 205, 206, 205, 200 cm, changed offset to 200 and recompiled
  • SR50M-45 S/N C4790 PROM SR50V13, SIG: 56809
  • Site in good shape, all components, may try to get extra cable in enclosure
  • Wired rad/snow pole turnbuckles
  • pulled extra cables inside instrument box to protect from critters

8 June 2007, Ken I., Dan R.

  • found rain gauge collector/funnel blown off to west, about 25m away in rocks
    • cut slot in rim of collector, used hose clamps to secure to guage
  • installed electric fence with 4 posts, fence charger/controller (fencer) on a 5th post
  • installed aluminum back plates on solar panel to protect wires
  • tripod & radiation pole all firm & true. Alter shield still well set, still a bit skewed.
  • the site does have a barometer installed
  • radiation sensor bubble level is true. 56 inches from sensor (center) to mean ground
  • snow depth sensor 80 inches to ground, measured from grid of sensor
  • all sensors look good
  • instrument shelter is dry inside
  • recommend white box to contain loose/extra wire from HMP, RM Young, and antenna cable. (White in order to minimize heating & effect on AT sensors.)
  • 3 soil moisture sensors in flex conduit coiled, sitting beneath solar panel
    • REMOVED TO Toolik -- NOT AT SITE!!
