2021 NGEE Nome August Trip

NGEE Project Disturbance / Kougarok focus. Helping Go mostly.

  • Tentatively plan to visit all three Kougarok met stations...if time
    • Replace desiccant @ 10m tower
    • Replace CR10X @ 10m tower
    • Replace CR10X @ Mauze Gulch site
    • Replace snow transducers
  • Measure ground control at NGEE Koguarok mile 64 site (drop off GPS and pick up the next day)
  • Thaw depth and subsidence survey
  • Measure creek flow at Teller mile 27 site

(Most of this trip itinerary is being driven by subsidence survey and drone work)

August 27

  • Fly into Nome in afternoon
  • rent truck and visit conex
  • Charge 12v batteries and yellow trimble batteries

August 28

  • Drive out to Kougarok and hope to stay in the airport cabin out there.
  • Full day of measurements.
  • setup Trimble station @ end of road for surveying

August 29

  • Full day at the site and then return in evening to Nome

August 30

  • On drive back to Kougarok deploy the base GPS at NGEE m64 GCP.
  • Full day at the site
  • camp in cabin again.

August 31

  • Partial day at site
  • Retrieve survey gps @ m64 site on drive back to Nome
  • pack up

September 1

  • Ship gear that needs to be sent out out.
  • hop on airplane and return to Anchorage / Fairbanks
