Tape Color is Yellow

Inventory

  • Use Aluminum tripod from Museum
  • Need to replace some bolts... take care of this 8/3 (Aisle was closed at Home Depot)
    • See clipboard for info
  • Reuse the 10' x 1" pipe up top used the by the cameras for the net radiometer cross arm
    • I think we'll need to have a vertical support partway out the pole to keep it all level.
    • could use unistrut for all of this but will need to drill a hole in one of the unistruts because the holes don't entirely line up.
    • ubolt horizontal unistrut to tower
    • ubolt 1" pipe to horizontal unistrut
    • partway out horizontal pipe then add a vertical piece of unistrut.
  • Two batteries up top. We'll need to helicopter these up.
  • battery box for up top remains in 106 to carry sensors out in second shipment.
  • Cross arms:
    • Net radiometer
    • additional one for AT/RH
    • Need to figure out what to do up top for the anemometer...
      • 3/4"insert is up there but need to go 3/4" to 1" vertical...
  • Complications
    • crossarm ubolts from Campbell aren't big enough diameter to go around this pipe.

Anchoring system

Sensors

  • 1 Soil pit
    • Hydraprobes @ 5 depths
    • soil thermal conductivity at 4 depths
    • one additional surface temperature
  • 1 GIPL VATP (I'm on the fence about the length for this one)
  • Met
    • HMP155 AT/RH @ 1.5m (already up top)
      • Radiation shield too
    • RM Young anemometer for up top
    • If have enough, a skin temperature sensor (SI-111)
    • CNR4 Net Radiometer (already up top)
    • TE525MM with cable.
      • Calibrated in the lab, read 52.4 mm when it should have read 60mm. Therefore, in program, use multiplier 60/53*0.1 = 0.113 instead of 0.1
  • Anything else?

Extras

  • Need to measure resistance of heaters for all thermal conductivity sensors
  • need to color code all subsurface sensors
  • need to make sure extension cords are included for solar panel to charge controller
  • same for battery to charge controller
  • and again logger to charge controller
  • also need fused power and spare fuses
  • power jumper cables to put the two batteries in parallel
  • Need to drill out hole in battery box for the liquid-tite.
  • need to trim back the Vitel cable so that we can wire them up properly
  • need to include terminal strips for power, ground, and control of Vitels.
  • probably need to figure out if we need additional terminal strips for the thermal conductivity.

To Buy up top:

  • 1" unistrut pipe clamp for net radiometer
    • may have this in our unistrut stock.
  • Anchoring system supplies
  • review photos for nome storage stock.
