How to Change the address of an SDI Device

  1. Connect your computer's serial port to the RS232 port of the data logger.
  2. Connect using DevConfig or some other general terminal program (115.2k is fine for a speed, or anything slower)
  3. Hit Return a few times to get the CR1000> Prompt
  4. When you have the prompt, type SDI12 followed by Enter.
  5. The CR1000 should ask you which port to connect to, Enter Cx Port 1,3,5 or 7
  6. Enter the proper port, followed by Enter.
  7. You'll then see Entering SDI12 Terminal.
  8. To find out the current address of the SDI sensor type ?! followed by Enter
  9. To change the sensor address type type xAy! where x = the current address and y = the new address.
