How to Change the address of an SDI Device
- Connect your computer's serial port to the RS232 port of the data logger.
- Connect using DevConfig or some other general terminal program (115.2k is fine for a speed, or anything slower)
- Hit Return a few times to get the CR1000> Prompt
- When you have the prompt, type SDI12 followed by Enter.
- The CR1000 should ask you which port to connect to, Enter Cx Port 1,3,5 or 7
- Enter the proper port, followed by Enter.
- You'll then see Entering SDI12 Terminal.
- To find out the current address of the SDI sensor type ?! followed by Enter
- To change the sensor address type type xAy! where x = the current address and y = the new address.
What follows below is an example sequence taken directly from a terminal session that was logged:
