Installation of SmatFlux 2 (SM2)

Site Overview-----

Rapid snow melt in progress. Snow has become very slushy with standing water in some areas.

Work Memo------

Installation process itself went smoothly with no surprise. However, the software does not show the newly installed SM2 in the "choose a smartflux" window. (Prior to the installation, a device was shown in the this window but it had disapered)

Troubleshooting was not successful I tried following

  • followed the network trouble shooting guide in the SM2 manual (pressing the reset button on SM2 and LI7550)
  • double checked all the connections/wiring
  • LED indicators on SM2 and LI7550 seemed normal
  • flow module is on and set at 15.0

I did NOT re-start the PC or the software in fear of causing disruption in data collection process.

I wonder if this had been caused by turning the LI7550 off as part of the installation procedure.

Further troubleshooting is needed.
