Before going:

  1. look over data for anything needing attention (like from animal damage potentially)
  2. make a list of things to do at the station
  3. bring tools, hose clamp or two, cable ties

On approach to a station:

  1. asses for animal damage

At station:

  1. download data
  2. look at numeric input locations on site to see that things make sense
  3. pound in with hand maul the guy wire deals if loose (easier later summer than spring)
  4. address animal damage / known before hand sensor repair work
  5. check that omni-directional antenna hasn't vibrated loose (it happens especially at K1/K2)
  6. level the radiometer tower at each summer visit (and then the up looking radiometers)
  7. set Flag 1 high if a radio is present upon leaving (except in fall)
  8. last off: double-check that the data logger is connected to the radio (blue or sometimes gray cable)
  9. take a picture or two in the final state (more good practice than anything else)
  10. replace dessicant in radiometers at least annually
