Scheduled task in windows

Follow the captions to set up a task in Japanese Windows XP (or American English Windows if that's what you're using):

After double clicking on the icon you'll see this screen.

First screen of the Add a scheduled task wizard. The middle button along the bottom of the screen is the Next button. Button location is the same on both flavors of windows.

Second screen of the Add a schedule task wizard. The button above the Back/Next/Cancel three is the 'Browse button. Click on that.

After clicking the browse button a window like this will appear. Navigate to the batch file we want to run. I think it is someplace like c:\cygwin\home\sugiura\bin\___.bat. On the Japanese version of windows the back slash looks like a Yen symbol but it is treated by the computer the same as a proper back slash.

After selecting the batch file you'll be prompted with a new window, this one. The top choice on the radio buttons is Daily. That is a fine choice. The position of Dailiy on the radio button list is the same for both Japanese windows and American English windows. Click the Next' to go to the next screen.

This window sets the time. Whatever time is fine. Go ahead and click the Next button again.

Finally, Enter and confirm the password. This is the step I was unable to do. Once again the labels are difficult to translate on Japanese windows but the placement is consistent. Enter the password and then click the Next button again.

After putting in the right password this screen appears. The Finish button is in the same position at the bottom of the screen as the Next button was earlier in this process.

The finished task will appear on the main Scheduled Tasks Window. Despite the Japanese I made it to this step but didn't have the user account password.

So, to shortcut to the password part, right click on the existing scheduled task. The bottom item in the context menu is Properties. If you click on the bottom thing it is the same for both Japanese windows and American English windows... Or, you can double click on the existing scheduled task. Both work to get you to this next screen.

On this screen click the Set Password button. Button placement is the same for both windows. Then, enter the password to allow this task to run.
