Sep field work 2012
- Proposed dates: Arrival evening Sunday Sep 23, departure Friday evening Sep 30th.
- Arrive on the evening on Monday Sep 24.
- People: Bob B, Anna L, Sasha K
Itinerary
Tasks
- download and maintain Campbell logger
- change program to make it table data compatible
- load new OS
- set pakbus ID to 404
- Installation of additional CSI snow depth (4)
- need to add an extra sensor to one of the sites
- I have the sensors, A & S have the rest of the parts
- move webcam 90 degrees:
- short unistrut pieces (need to cut from stock in prep room)
- four bolts
- two angle pieces (four hole)
- four strut nuts
- sawzall packed
- climbing harness
- set up base radio & usb to serial
- bring a few components from Fairbanks
Oh, I was thinking for the base radio to bring the sawzall, cut the rusted ubolts on the tower and then hose clamp a new pipe in place for the base antenna
From my field book:
- Seal 3" Pipes
- serial cable to C (bring from FAI)
- null modem to A (at the control shed)
- animal proof A
- tarps to B & C
- NRS to C
- mount antenna and set up rad network
- TC probes @ C need extending
- Need to get #5 thermal conductivity S/N at C (maybe hold off till I wire them in?)
- Need to look at what a good value for heat flux looks like prior to the trip
Potential Extra Items
- Install power from Control Shed to site C (I am not sure the power is available to us??)
- Install wireless communication to grid site (requires power)
