Spring 2022 Notes
- I have 2 wire snakes in Fairbanks. Blue & Brown. Send Brown to Nome and leave out there on spring trip.
- Bring out two pipe wrenches in March / June so that we can take apart the drill bit Sasha used in Fall of 2021.
- Need to add to the Teller 47 site visit to do list "DUMP PRECIP BUCKET EVERY VISIT"
- Need to measure the Teller Creek at a high flow in 2022 (So: May) a few times in order to be able to use the old rating curve with the new pressure transducers.

- batteries
- solar panel
- cr800
Council
- Survey Sigrid / Margaret's sites
NGEE Kougarok
- Survey GCP
Replace top mast and anemometer
- Full replacement anemometer
- potentially could reuse one from storage but will need:
- propeller (need to order)
- cable (fairbanks supplies)
- right size cord grip (I'm sure this is found in my Fairbanks supplies... or the one that's currently broken... )
- unistrut & 1" pipe & ubolts (try the square ones?)
- nylock nuts
- potentially could reuse one from storage but will need:
- new brown tarp
- bring out replacement card... could send new program that doesn't save out the soils data any more to increase storage...
- put soil moisture probe back in ground.
- I guess remove VATP from program to make the data record last longer.
- @Conex
- Ladder (for anemometer fix)
- @Tools Required
- 1/2" box wrench / nut driver
- 5/16" nut driver
NGEE Koguarok Parts Packed in Fairbanks
- 2 u-bolts for 1" pipe
- 2 u-bolts for 1.25" pipe
- 1 pcs CF memory card
- 1 pcs 1" top pipe
- 1 pcs propeller, front nut
- 1 pcs spare anemometer cable
- --> Brown Tarp?
To ship from Fairbanks
- 2x ubolts for 1" pipe
- 2x ubolts for 1.25" pipe
- section of unistrut for top
- cord grip for anemometer base
- propeller and nut for anemomter
K1 Burn
- Should visit since I haven't heard from it.
- change out the SR50A transducer
- bring a thermistor for air temp (assuming there will be some damages)
- I guess, given that it isn't on the radio network any more I should expect something worse.
- power cable to fix a chewed solar panel
- coax in case that was chewed
K2 Met
- Station visit required
- Bring out desiccant for radiometers (loose)
- replace CR10X but change the watch battery on the logger to take out first.
- check on the wire rope left here so I can add fittings...
K3 Mauze Gulch
- No idea... need to review how I left things in 2019.
- Bringing a spare CR10X to this site, too.
Things to Order
Related: Need to separate out by project ID
- Campbell Scientific
- RM Young anemometer propellers ( $70 at RM Young website) https://www.youngusa.com ; p/n 08214-45)
- Texas Electronics Tipping Bucket
- cobble from parts?
- SR50A transducers
- new deployment
- existing @ Utqiagvik = 8 = 2A + 2B + 3C + 1D
- existing @ SP = 10 = 4 (K1 to K3 + ngee m64) + 1 m47 + 4 m27 + 1 council?
- 2.5 psi for Teller SW
Older:
To Buy
- Step ladder for teller bottom
- Bring out a replacement memory card for the Teller Bottom CFM module
General
- 2 Trimble Yellow batteries left in NW Campus Warm Storage
Seward Peninsula
- SR50A transducer replacement (fall activity)
- (2019) bring out one step stool to level teller bottom radiometer.
- (2019) bring out tap, die, drill, drill bit, screw for teller bottom radiometer.
- screw...
- also replace cnr4 desiccant since the unit didn't look like it was sealing right with this missing screw.
- Bring out additional desiccant? for box
- Teller SW desiccant replacement
- (2019) Redrill hole for C1 Grid temperature probe
- what is needed for this?
- Measure Creek Flow
- salt slug, n=2 samples of 50g / known volume of water
- Re-level radiometers
- polish radiometer domes
- Measure thermistors resistances at Teller Bottom and add them to fieldbook.
- There are a couple with a 0.5C offset at spring freezing point so I think they may be failing and or something...
- Related: I'm wondering if the delay between measurements should be increased for the thermistor measurements.
- Also related: perhaps add a second string up at teller top?
- sort of some additional homework is that I saw instability in a number of thermistors when measuring up top. I suspect but haven't verified that this instability is an indicator for the wonky temperatures seen in the data but need to confirm.
- 6/11/2018 In Fairbanks... down in 106 / the basement there is a box of 12" nails. Would be good to grab three for the Teller SW solar panel tripod
- I should do some experiments with the thermal conductivity thermistors in office/lab to see if I can reduce the noisiness.
- finish surveying vegetation plots
Kougarok

Utqiagvik
- Intensive Site A HMP155 failed (3.5m)
- Intensive Site B HMP155 failed (1.4m)
- Intensive Site C HMP155 failed
- need to replace the network cable running from the computer to the network switch. It cuts out with minimal bumping.... but station is finally back online!!!
- Site A SR50A transducers have failed
- some subsurface items are beginning to fail.
- bring up clear tape and a biz card to label the computer
- bring up the nuc plate and wood screws and other screw packet to mount nuc to wall
