Hydra Probe notes

    • ID 0 = 5cm = red
    • ID 1 = 10cm = orange
    • ID 2 = 20cm = purple
    • ID 3 = 30cm = brown
    • ID 4 = 40cm = black

VATP notes

  • bringing 2 drill bits (different tips), two extensions (different lengths), and two connectors
  • also need to bring wrenches
  • drill in UAF Nome storage
  • when installing VATP, remove upper veg layer, drill a hole, install VATP, cut a slit in upper layer to place back around installed probe
  • use white duct tape to secure probe to conduit

Anemometer notes

Testing each anemometer for

  • propeller torque using anemometer torque disc (18310)
    • factory spec is 2.6 gm-cm (black nylon screw at 5cm and metal screw at 2cm)
      • 33821 moved with 0.2 gm-cm (a black nylon screw at 2cm radius), so this is much better than factory spec
      • 61996 moved with 0.5 gm-cm
    • tested both Clock Wise(CW) and Counter Clock Wise (CCW)
  • Wind speed using anemometer drive (18802)
    • @200rpm = 0.98m/s. @1000rpm = 4.9m/s. @2000rpm = 9.8m/s
    • tested both CW and CCW
  • Vane Torque using Vane Torque Gauge (18331)
    • mount the gauge, pull the string, if it moves with < 30 gm-cm of torque, golden.
    • tested both CW and CCW
  • Wind Direction using Vane Angle Fixture Tower Mount (18212)
    • checked 3 directions
      • 33821 all within 1 degree of accuracy
      • 61996 reads 3 degrees less (ex: reads 177 when should be 180)

NEED ONE WIRE (have one)
