Seward Peninsula

2018 NGEE Nome June Trip

  • SR50A transducer replacement (fall activity)
  • bring out one step stool to level teller bottom radiometer.
  • bring out tap, die, drill, drill bit, screw for teller bottom radiometer.
  • also replace cnr4 desiccant since the unit didn't look like it was sealing right with this missing screw.
  • Bring out additional desiccant? for box
  • Teller SW desiccant replacement
  • Redrill hole for C1 Grid temperature probe
  • Measure Creek Flow
  • Re-level radiometers
  • Measure thermistors at Teller Bottom and add them to fieldbook.
    • Related: I'm wondering if the delay between measurements should be increased for the thermistor measurements.
    • Also related: perhaps add a second string up at teller top?
    • sort of some additional homework is that I saw instability in a number of thermistors when measuring up top. I suspect but haven't verified that this instability is an indicator for the wonky temperatures seen in the data but need to confirm.
  • 6/11/2018 In Fairbanks... down in 106 / the basement there is a box of 12" nails. Would be good to grab three for the Teller SW solar panel tripod
  • Koug M64 Ngee tipping bucket stand is 1" aluminum pipe (verified by photo)
  • Teller Bottom tipping bucket stands: 3/4" aluminum pipe (it appears)
  • I should do some experiments with the thermal conductivity thermistors in office/lab to see if I can reduce the noisiness.

Teller SW Flow

  • cloth tape
    • left a small cloth tape at the site
  • metal meter stick or folding tape
    • left a metal meter stick at the site
  • flow tracker
  • fieldbook
  • YSI conductivity meter
    • manual
  • electrical tape
  • We (Nathan and I) set up a reach to use for salt slug method discharge estimates. It seemed to work great... though we haven't worked up the data...

Radiation Level:

  • step ladder
  • a bit of wood to provide better base for step ladder
  • phillips screwdriver for level

Radiation Desiccant Swap:

  • Step ladder
  • small CSI phillips
  • K&Z desiccant pack
  • anti-corrosion goo

Teller Top Soil Temperatures

  • Volt meter
  • fieldbook

Teller bottom precip bucket swap

  • small csi phillips
  • desiccant pack
  • 2 red butt splices
  • toggle bolts
  • 5/16" nut driver
  • 1/2" nut driver / wrench for ubolts
  • crimping tool
  • wire cutter

Utqiagvik

  • Intensive Site C HMP155 failed
  • need to replace the network cable running from the computer to the network switch. It cuts out with minimal bumping.... but station is finally back online!!!
  • Site A SR50A transducers have failed
  • some subsurface items are beginning to fail.
  • bring up clear tape and a biz card to label the computer
  • bring up the nuc plate and wood screws and other screw packet to mount nuc to wall
