  • Imnavait Weir Notes

-Toolik field staff helps with breakup measurements. Most are unusable -I notice a shift in rating, PT data for 2021. Weir is jacking. Summer masurements were made by Toolik staff and LTER (Jason D.). -Sept 2021, Randy F. pounds down left bank side of weir about 8 inches. -Spring 2022, UAF student Finn and Toolik staff ET Traver (highly competent hydro tech) measured during spring breakup. -In August 2022, polar field services replaces weir wingwalls. September 2022 visit by emily shows significant erosion and loss of vegetation at weir. Multiple measurements are made. -In 2023, Emily and UAF student Lora made spring breakup measurements and Emily makes Sept 2023 measurements. Emily noticed about 4 cm of upward movement of the weir on the RB side since installed. RB side of weir is detached from wingwall and pounded down about 3-4 cm and resurveyed. Also noted potential frost jacking of the TBM1 of several cm. Polar field surveys tries to revegetate by bringing in tundra and placing it over eroded areas along wingwalls (sept 2023). -requested TBM1 DGPS static survey.

  • UK Met Notes

They are on old multiplexor and a new one. Removed them to test in Fairbanks winter 2023. -after site visit May 2023, one or two soil temps stopped working. Possible problem with multiplexor going bad?
